The 2013 USAID Education Summit three-day agenda focuses on each of the five-year strategy’s three goals to be completed by 2015:

  • Improved reading skills for 100 million children in primary grades.
  • Enhanced ability of workforce development programs.
  • Increased equitable access to education in crisis and conflict environments for 15 million learners.

The second round of USAID’s “All Children Reading” Grand Challenge for Development was announced. It will offer entrepreneurs and businesses an avenue to USAID funding for products which can bring progress in the field of  early-grade reading. The next challenge will focus exclusively on science and technology innovations for education, with a strong emphasis on mother tongue, which are both the focus and specificity of Et4d products.
